Terms and Conditions for Lofoten Mountain Guides AS

1. Registration

You can register for Lofoten Mountain Guides AS courses and guiding services through:

A written confirmation will be sent within a few days of registration.

2. Payment

  • Payment of the total amount is required within 14 days of booking confirmation.

  • Registration is binding once the participant has received confirmation and paid 100% of the total price.

  • Participants under 18 years old require parental or guardian approval.

  • By paying the total amount, the participant agrees to these terms and conditions.

3. Cancellation

  • More than 45 days before the activity: A 10% fee of the total price applies.

  • 45-30 days before the activity: A 50% fee of the total price applies.

  • Within 30 days of the activity: No refund is given. If other dates (within the same calendar year) are available, rescheduling is possible at no extra charge. 

  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing and confirmed by Lofoten Mountain Guides in writing.

  • Participants are advised to obtain travel insurance to cover cancellations.

4. Amendments

  • Changes to bookings incur a NOK 200 fee per participant.

  • While Lofoten Mountain Guides AS will try to accommodate changes, they cannot be guaranteed.

5. Organizer Changes or Cancellations

  • Lofoten Mountain Guides AS reserves the right to adjust or cancel activities due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances for safety reasons. In such cases, Lofoten Mountain Guides AS is not liable for compensation.

  • If minimum participant numbers are not met, Lofoten Mountain Guides AS may cancel the activity. Customers will receive a refund or be offered an alternative date.

6. Weather Conditions

  • If weather conditions make the activity unsafe, Lofoten Mountain Guides AS may offer an alternative arrangement within a reasonable timeframe.

  • Participants must cover any cost difference if the alternative activity is more expensive.

7. Age Restrictions

  • Participants under 18 require a self-declaration form signed by a parent or guardian.

  • Participants under 16 must generally be accompanied by an adult unless otherwise agreed.

  • Specific age limits may apply to certain activities; these are detailed in the activity descriptions.

8. Activity Arrangements

  • Lofoten Mountain Guides AS is not responsible for costs incurred due to a participant’s poor physical condition or personal circumstances.

  • Fees are non-refundable for interrupted activities.

  • Instructors may exclude participants due to safety risks, health concerns, or inadequate equipment.

9. Participant Responsibilities

  • Participants must follow the guide/instructor’s instructions and the activity’s rules.

  • All safety decisions the guide makes must be respected and are not debatable.

  • Failure to comply may result in removal from the activity without a refund.

  • Participants are responsible for damages caused by negligence or failure to follow instructions.

  • Any equipment belonging to Lofoten Mountain Guides AS lost by the participant must be replaced. Either directly or financially. 

10. Inclusions

Each activity description on www.lofotenmountainguides.com specifies what is included in the price, such as equipment, food, and transport.

11. Insurance

  • Insurance is not included.

  • Participants should ensure their insurance covers the activity, including cancellations, accidents, medical emergencies, and repatriation.

12. Claims, Complaints, and Right of Withdrawal

  • Complaints should be raised immediately during the activity to allow Lofoten Mountain Guides AS to resolve the issue.

  • Written complaints must be submitted within two months of the activity’s end.

  • Purchases from the Lofoten Mountain Guide webshop follow the Right of Withdrawal Act. Customers can return items within 14 days of receipt.

13. Limitation of Liability

  • Lofoten Mountain Guides AS is not liable for injuries, accidents, or losses during activities.

  • No liability is accepted for changes due to weather, strikes, or other unforeseen events.

  • Lofoten Mountain Guides AS will not be responsible for consequential or indirect losses.

14. Dispute Resolution

  • Disputes should be resolved through negotiation.

  • Unresolved disputes will be settled by Norwegian courts under Norwegian law.
